How can an energy company be eco-friendly?
Well, by using biofuels for heating the major part of the hot water in our district heating plant we are contributing to a better outdoor climate.

Yet we are still able to provide the indoor climate our customers demand and thus reduce harmful emissions from the combustion of oil. We are striving for a virtuous circle.
The chart shows a mix of fuels for district heating production in 2009. Biofuel is the largest fuel source at Borås Energi och Miljö in respect of district heating and cooling. This includes forestry waste such as branches, treetops and chips. Waste also forms a significant part of the fuel we use when we produce heat. This includes both household and industrial waste. Fossil fuel and electricity only make up a small part of our energy consumption.
